Seasons and Marriage
Spring is the time for joining of seeds,
And mating one to another,
With promise of fulfilling future needs,
Foresaking all but each other.
And so it is in a marriage.
Summer is the time for reaping the harvest,
To enjoy the rewards of the spring,
When all seems to be at it's very best,
Time to relax and savor everything.
And so it is in a marriage.
Fall is the time when blooms start to fade,
And the pollens have long since expired,
Leaves turn and fall foregoing their shade,
They've lost luster, are faded and tired,
And so it is in a marriage.
Winter is the time for dormant seeds buried,
To lay in the cold without fear,
The promise they have is no need to be worried,
'cause Spring returns year after year.
And so it is in a marriage.
