Dear Guardian Angel
Guardian Angel you have a task,
Of utmost difficulty,
You've been charged from birth to last
With watching over me.
'tis not that I live life so bad,
I think you would agree,
But I'm sure there's times I've made you sad
With my inconsistency.
There have been many days I've made you smile,
When I tried to do things right,
But then I'd act like a turnstile,
And keep you up all night.
I've been awakened from nights dreams,
Thinking I heard a sigh,
Other times though, it seems,
I thought I heard you cry.
Dear Angel, I know not how long I'll live,
But to live it right I'll try,
And I want to ask you to forgive,
The times I've made you cry.
